Early Life
She grew up playing for a boy’s youth football team with the guidance of her mother, Michelle, who wants her to join a cheerleading team instead. At the age of thirteen years old, she shifted her focus to basketball from the cheerleading team. Cooke played basketball for Rogers High School in her hometown Ohio. Zia also led her team to the Division II state title and made a record of 33 points and 14 rebounds in the title game.
After this success, her name was listed as The Blade Player of the Year. After that, the highlight video took media attention. As a senior, she averaged 21.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. College Career
On 13th November 2019, she scored a season-high 27 points with seven rebounds for her team in a 75–49 win against Dayton. She averaged 12.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game which helped her team achieve a 32–1 record and a No. 1 national ranking. Not only this she also set a record and was selected to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team.
On 31st December 2020, Zia recorded a season-high 26 points in a 75–59 win over Florida. On 2nd April 2021, at the Final Four of the NCAA tournament, she scored a team-high 25 points in a 66–65 loss to Stanford.
