Early Life
Alexander was born in Toronto, Ontario, his mother, Charmaine Gilgeous, is a former track athlete, who competed in the women’s 400 meters for Antigua and Barbuda at the 1992 Summer Olympics. His father also coached him as a youth. He started high school in Hamilton at St. Then he moved to the USA, transferring to Hamilton Heights Christian Academy Tennessee) for his junior and senior years to develop his basketball skills, graduating in 2017.
High School Career

College Career
He started the 2017–18 season as a reserve, sitting behind freshman point guard Quade Green, but averaged over 30 minutes per game, after a tough loss to UCLA. When he first stepped on the University of Kentucky’s campus, he had long hair. Professional Career
Los Angeles Clippers (2018–2019)
On June 21st, 2018, Alexander was selected 11th overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2018 NBA draft, before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers the same day. For the pick after him and two future second-round picks, he played for the team in the 2018 NBA Summer League, where he averaged 19 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2.3 steals per game.
2019–2020: Rising as newborn Star
On 10th July 2019, the Clippers traded him & Danilo Gallinari, five first-round draft picks, and the rights to swap two other first-round picks to the Oklahoma City Thunder for NBA All-Star Paul George. The same year in October he made his preseason debut with the Oklahoma City Thunder against the Dallas Mavericks. He then recorded 24 points and four rebounds in a 119–104 win over the Mavericks.
At the year-end, he scored a career-high 32 points with five assists, three rebounds, and two steals in a 118–112 win over the Los Angeles Clippers. Next year on 13th January, Alexander recorded his first NBA triple-double with 20 points, 10 assists, and a career-high 20 rebounds in a 117–104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. By doing this he became the second player after Russell Westbrook to record a 20–20–10 statline in the last 30 years and the youngest to achieve it.
2020–2022: Injuries
On 26th December 2020, he put up 24 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, and a game-winning jump shot in a 109–107 win against the Charlotte Hornets. Next year In February he scored a then career-high 42 points to give the Oklahoma City Thunder a 102–99 win over the San Antonio Spurs. The same year in March after playing 35 games, his season ended due to a tear in his plantar fascia.
