As his parents’ immense confidence and support never let him break. The signs of his faith were showing up. He finally reached the Under-17 category of Saprissa and agreed to stay in San Jose to further pursue his sports career.

Club Career

Sequeira’s firm decision to pursue a sports career started attracting opportunities. He got promoted. And after his promotion to the first team of Deportivo Saprissa in 2016, he signed a two-year loan deal with Spanish side Real Union.

On October 29, 2017, Sequeira made his senior debut for Real Union. After acting as a backup, he signed a permanent two-year contract. Then with Segunda Division side CD Lugo, he agreed to a three-year deal.

Sequeira did not play any match at the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup but was part of the squad. He was about to make his debut match against Jamaica but was replaced by Leonel Moreira due to his ankle injury.

Sequeira made his debut match against South Korea where he was the substitute for Joel Campbell as Esteban Alvarado was given the red card. There, it was his first goal for Costa Rica as a goalkeeper.

Deportivo Saprissa

It was made official at a press that Patrick with six other youth players is promoted to the Saprissa first team. Sequeira was given the role of the third goalkeeper against Danny Carvajal and substitute Mario Sequeira. His team was the champion of the tournament by beating Herediano 2-0 in the quadrangular stage.

For ten days, Patrick travelled to Spain to take a test at the Real Union Club. And after several sessions of training, he signed for two seasons on loan as a goalkeeper. There, coach Asier Santana allowed him to debut in the starting lineup. Patrick appeared with the number “1”, completed all the minutes, received a yellow card, and conceded three goals in the 3-0 defeat.

From this, he closed his first season with four appearances and received seven scores. After spending two seasons on loan, his stay for further two seasons was made official.

RC Celta de Vigo “B”

Celta de Vigo “B” announced the Sequeira’s incorporation to the team for a season on loan, with a purchase option.
