On Dec. 11th, 2012, the sportscaster was making dinner outside of her home when she noticed the flame on her grill had reduced and wouldn’t ignite. Early life
Hannah’s parents are Moke Storm and Hannah G. Storm. She went to the Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia, and, in 1985, finished her university studies and received a degree in communication and political science from the University of Notre Dame. Her father was a commissioner of the American Basketball Association and general manager of the Indiana Pacers. He was also the president of the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. Hannah’s mother was a real estate broker.
During her university time in the early 1980s, Hannah worked as a disc jockey for a hard rock radio station in Texas. After six months, she was hired as the drive-time sportscaster and traffic reporter at Houston rock station KSRR 97 Rock. From 1988 to 1989, she worked as a sports anchor on WCNC TV 36 (formerly WRET) in North Carolina on the weekends. After that, she started to work with CNN.
Career
CNN: In 1989 Hannah’s national career started as the first female host on CNN Sports Tonight. She also hosted the Major League Baseball preview and reported from Spring training, the playoffs and Daytona 500. In 1992 Hannah resigned from CNN.
NBC Sports
In 1992 After resigning from CNN she was hired by NBC. She hosted the Olympic Ganes, NBA, WNBA Basketball, TeNational Football League, Figure Skating and Major League Baseball. When she hosted NBC Major League Baseball games from 1994 to 2000 she became the first woman in American television history when she act as a solo host of a network’s sports package. She also hosted the NBA on NBC from 1997 to 2002. She also anchored French Open, Notre DameFootball, and world figures getting championship figures. Hannah was also the first announcer for the WNBA.
The Early Show
Hannah mood to CBS News and became one of the hosts of The Early Show In 2002. She covered major news like the Iraq war, Super Bowl XL, the 2004 and 2008 presidential elections and the 2005 London terrorist bombing as she was co-host of the show. She interviewed major newsmakers like George W. Bush, first lady Laura Bush Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama.
